This is a vintage reproduction of a hand-colored copperplate botanical engraving from the late 18th century, likely from "Nederlandsch Bloemwerk" (Dutch Flower Arrangements) by J.B. Elwe, published in Amsterdam in 1794.

It depicts two main floral subjects, a large red carnation, also known as Dianthus caryophyllus.
Alcea syriaca hort Erft, a type of hollyhock, likely Alcea rosea or a related species, as indicated by the "syriaca" and "hort" (horticultural) annotations.

The print showcases both the fully bloomed flowers and buds, along with their leaves and stems, in a detailed and scientifically accurate manner characteristic of botanical illustrations of the period.
