Antique Print, Victorian Women Fighting, 1892 Romance Fiction Art (AR-A386)

This print depicts a scene titled "MISS HENLEY AND MRS. VIMPANY," from the Victorian era "Blind Love" by Willie Collins. It shows two women in a domestic interior. Miss Henley is positioned near a closed door, gesturing with her right hand, while Mrs. Vimpany stands facing her, holding a chair. Both women are dressed in elaborate, tiered skirts and fitted bodices typical of the period. The room is sparsely decorated with a patterned carpet, a few framed pictures on the wall, and a chair in the background. There is clear agitation between the two ladies.

Artist - A. Forestier
Engraver - R. Taylor

Also included is the tissue paper covering with a brief description of the scene.

This is an original,  not a reproduction. It came from a destroyed 1st edition book published in 1892 by Selmar Hess called Character Sketches of Romance Fiction and Drama. There is some damage, aging to the bound side of the print. All prints are either wood engravings, etchings, photogravure, or typogravure.

Approx Size - 11.5"x 9"

Great for framing, assemblage, collage art, scrapbooking, college or school reports, research
