Appliance Advertisement, 1940s Saturday Evening Post (AR-A692)

 

This is a vintage advertisement for Proctor Automatic Electric Appliances, from the 1940s. The ad features a woman in a blue headscarf and a striped apron, holding a Proctor iron in one hand and a Proctor toaster in the other. 
The ad copy includes the following:
Headline: "TRYING TO CATCH UP WITH YOUR DEMANDS...THOUSANDS OF NEW PROCTOR IRONS AND TOASTER" and "Here they come!"
Appliances shown: A Proctor Champion Speed Iron and a Proctor Silent Automatic Toaster. A smaller inset ad announces a "new...exclusive...PROCTOR" toaster that is "Coming soon!"
Call to action: The ad encourages customers to be patient if their needs are not urgent, but to put their name on a list with their Proctor Dealer if they must have an iron or toaster. 
Company information: The ad identifies the company as Proctor Electric Company, Division of Proctor & Schwartz, Inc., located in Philadelphia 40, Pennsylvania. It also mentions 105 service stations available for repairs from coast to coast. 


Condition - The ad is mounted to cardboard and ready to frame. There may be some marks,  discoloration or wrinkles but nothing major.
