This is an industrial textile thread Spool. It is approximately from the 30s to 50s.
I bought a huge lot of these for a lighting project at an estate sale. The family owned a ribbon factory in New Jersey. They specialized in making giant ribbons used in memorial grave wreaths and stuff like that.
These spools have lots are marks and we’re definitely used. They are not the pristine ones found in reproduction shops.
